GARDEN DESIGN, DIFFERENTLY

Amy’s background and training as a visual artist and her (wonderful) differences as a late-diagnosed Autistic person generate a unique approach to designing outdoor spaces. A highly sensitive person and sympathetic to her clients, the brief and the gardens she works in, Amy has a naturally heightened ability to create beautiful and functional gardens, nurture projects and her relationships with clients.

The Design process

Amy works closely with clients to ensure that the character of their home and the owners are reflected in the garden; whether that’s drawing inspiration from a period in design, the plants or including the landscapes from your favourite movies. For many, but not all, the design process looks like this:

  • Site visit, initial consultation and briefing.

  • Site survey and scale plan drawing.

  • Concept outline plan and mood board, detailing existing proposed planting.

  • Presentation.

  • Mater plan: scaled drawing, inclusive of planting plan.

  • Sourcing plants.

  • Setting out and planting.
